While I try to buy a postcard for my father’s birthday, a homeless person asks me for money for antibiotics. He flashes his band-aid. I’m convinced and say “I only have a note of 20 dollars. So I’ll first buy a card and then give you some change.” Surprisingly he helps me to choose a card for my father. We both doubt between a card with a koala beer in a tree and one with a koala beer on a surfboard. I choose the one with the koala beer in the tree, pay, and give the guy 2 dollars. He smiles and says “I feel guilty but I shoplifted the other card for you”. Next time I’ll mention that I’m looking for an Ipad. For dad.
