Thanks mate, now I don't dare to set another foot in our garage... or garden... and I have to do the laundry just there!
What am I talking about? Well, let's begin at the beginning. One moment, we meet on a regular basis at the supermarket in Hengelo and the next, we are sitting together at Sydney Central Station (in rush hour: a slightly different experience than standing by the coffee machine in Albert Heijn Hengelo, we can tell you.)
Sadjad and Richard are walking kind of the same path: from the UT (and Hengelo)to a PhD in Australia. Sadjad started in Canberra on the same day Richard did here in Sydney and last thursday he came to get his extra luggage from the airport in Sydney(the busdriver who lifted his suitcase needed only one guess: 'What's this, mate?? All books in it, or something?! What are you, a smartass, or what!')
So we got together and Sadjad admitted he had trouble sleeping the first couple of nights, because he was afraid to find the infamous redback spider curling up next to him (cozy and warm, it IS wintertime so you couldn't blame the thing for trying)
Hhhmmm, we didn't think about nasty creatures twice since we got here (before arrival, yes: watched too much National Geographic the weeks before leaving. In this case, that is not a smart thing to do.) But now we do! Sadjad on the other hand was glad to talk about it: 'puts everything in perspective; arachnophobia; silly; no worries;.... '
Right! (concentrating on John Goodman starring Roseanne might help, no spiders in that comedy horror. Just bitches, and what's not to like about that)
