SEAM2010
After travelling through the concrete jungle, including some rough areas, for over an hour, I arrived at SEAM2010 (Somatic Embodiment, Agency & Mediation in Digital Mediated Environments), a conference on art, embodiment and mediation. It’s sort of similar to Gogbot in Enschede, but with more lectures and less art. Most lectures were good, while others had a high amount of postmodernist oratorical firework (and yes I’m paraphrasing Bridget Jones). Particularly interesting was hearing artists talk about the relation between art, technology and embodiment, and seeing work of the artist Stelarc. http://mq.academia.edu/RichardHeersmink
