Music and a picnic under the Stars

Sydney’s summer oozes an atmosphere of ‘joie de vivre’ and we relish the opportunity to experience (some of) the pleasures it has to offer! So Friday night, we set off to Parramatta Park to enjoy the Australian Chamber Orchestra and Sydney Dance Company performing ‘Summer’ from Vivaldi’s Four Seasons.

‘Bring a blanket and a picnic, settle back and soak up the best Sydney has to offer with music and dance on a summer evening under the stars’. We did. And it turned out to be magical:
The setting sun and trees collaborated to add the most wonderful lights and shadows, paving the way to a beautiful full moonlit night. Bats were frolicking in their own choreography against an almost sapphire blue sky… okay, to state that they synchronized with the dancers on stage, would be too much ‘literacy effort’. I was already overdoing it, sorry.

My point is, ballet can be fun and light-footed (note: make sure they do Summer and not Black Swan).
